Notable People
Presidents, prime ministers, independence patriots, scholars and cultural figures.
These biographies describe public record — offices held, dates, and what each person did. They do not assert anyone's caste. Community affiliation is documented for only a few of these individuals, and claiming it without evidence is precisely the error this archive has been correcting elsewhere.

Radala
The Radala were the aristocratic families of the Kandyan kingdom. They held its principal offices — Adigar, Dissawa, Rate Mahatmaya — lived in walauwa, and married strictly within their own rank. Whether the Radala are best described as a community in their own right or as a stratum within the Govigama is answered differently by different authorities; they are listed under their own heading here rather than under either answer.
