Dissanayake Mudiyanselage Jayaratne (1931–2019) was Prime Minister of Sri Lanka from 2010 to 2015.
Born in Gampola and a teacher by profession before entering politics, he was first elected to Parliament in 1970 and represented the Kandy district for much of his career. He held portfolios including Agriculture, Plantation Industries, and Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs, and served as Leader of the House. He was Prime Minister for the whole of Mahinda Rajapaksa's second presidential term.
